Guitar

Joe, from Cambridge, cut his teeth on the Manchester session scene, known the world over for the quality of Irish musicians it produces. His sensitive yet driving guitar playing meant that he was soon in demand as an accompanist, playing with Ríoghnach Connolly’s Black Lung, Emma Sweeney & Will Pound, and Scottish fiddle maestro Graham Mackenzie. Since then, he has played across the UK, Ireland, Europe and the US. He is a seasoned ceilidh musician having played for dances up and down the country for over 10 years. Joe is now based in London where he is a regular on its vibrant session scene. He also makes up one fifth of Aizle – an exciting new project combining some of the best up-and-coming musicians on the Scottish, Irish and English, traditional circuit – who made their debut at the 2015 Trip to Birmingham Trad Festival.
